I applied for many online teaching jobs over the past few months, mostly Chinese companies. I'd say most of them would not allow me to teach in Vietnam. Some made exceptions for Thailand and Philippines, but the rest preferred that you to be teaching in China or North America.
Anyone know the reason why? I know they claim the slow internet connection or even that their software doesn't work in VN, but that seems like a poor excuse. |

They probably are just saying that to not hire you for other reasons. If your NOT Caucasian , if your older or seem like you could be in anyway a hassle for them, they won't hire you.
I taught online while in VN for over a year. Google "Good air language" for the best list with feedback of online schools. |

I was told this many times in advance before an interview. Which company were you working for? |
