According to the school's rather bland website, applicants need to have the following:
• Trained Teacher Certification (PGCE or similar).
• Two years of relevant teaching experience.
• A degree or Masters in the subject area to be taught.
• Experience in the National Curriculum of England and Wales is an advantage.
• Experience with IGCSE or/and IBDP in the upper school is an advantage.
• Experience overseas and in an international curriculum is an advantage throughout the school, but not essential. The school is also "evaluated by the Adventist Accrediting Association." |

I received an email from them for an interview.
Tried to search the net for school reviews but couldn't find one.
Their offer is tempting though.
I wonder if anyone here is currently an employee.
Would love to hear feedback.
Thanks. |

Apparently a scam.
The interviewer hid his face.
The email used was Gmail
The call was on a weekend.
Kept saying "Excellent! Excellent!" to every one of my answers. Very unnatural.
Asked me for a police report, but in the UAE, these are arranged in country. No?
All K12 school in the UAE demand a teacher's licence, but I only have an MA in TESL. No K12 credentials. They still "gave" me the job at the whopping AED 16,500.
Sent me a contract offer, but asked me to get in touch with a certain travel agency to arrange for my tickets. Next thing, I think, is they will ask me to give them credit card info or wire money.
I smell the rat! |

That will certainly confirm your suspicions.
Glad to see that you won't be fooled.

I had an interview with the guy - and yes, he kept saying "Excellent!" Thats how he's probably trained every time he's impressed with the answers. 😍 He said he will send me the contract. I'll take a look at it and see what's in there 😊 |

I asked a friend living in the Uae to call thier number and it was a cell not a landline. The person was quite rude and asked her what she wanted. |

I wrote to them and said they appeared to be not real and they got angry, cursed me with F-bombs and said they were reporting me for false accusations. |

This is a scam, 100%!
I applied to this school and the man (Ali Hadi Mayet) interviewed me (for a total of 15 minutes) on the weekend on a Skype voice call (weird). The next day I got a job offer for over 60K a year.
Initially I was excited but something didn't seem right. I went on google maps and there's no trace of a 'school'. You can't click certain things on the website, like it's a dummy site. I found out his phone number is a cell number for Dubai but I couldn't trace the person, it's blocked. I asked him to send me a contract and he did. It looked legit but where's the school??
I did more research and found out that the picture he used for his Skype id actually belongs to a doctor in England. It's not even him!
One of my students has friends working in UAE and they said there's no such school in existence.
The nail in the coffin was when I contacted another teacher looking for a job who Ali Hadi Mayet had scammed. She was spreading the word on other job sites about him and he threatened her by saying he has her passport and is ready to give her problems if she's seeking them. She asked me to spread the word and that's why I'm here.
Do not apply to this school and help spread the word!
If it's too good to be true...it is. |

The 60K a year was the immediate giveaway to its being a scam.
If one has a related MA + some years of related experience... and a professional interview (perhaps by Skype, but serious sensible interaction). there may be a few openings left paying thus in well-known institutions that have obviously legitimate websites. But without those four details, it's an obvious scam.

Hardly... much higher than most EFL positions these days in the Gulf. Even you admit that your highly paid position is very rare these days and soon enough even you will be without it.
