From random searches around the web, there seems to be a lot of negative reviews on Disney English, mostly with regards to pay, hours worked and management. I'd love to hear from anyone else who might have any insight about them

What are other reputable schools/recruiters in China that you'd recommend?

I have not worked for them and have little that can help. I have toured one that had no foreign teachers at the time. I would say that each location will be unique, so it would probably be best to provide a specific DE location. In general, picking a training center to work at can be like crossing a minefield without a detector. I have noticed larger companies like Disney English tend to offer less money and benefits because (at least I think) they have stronger recruiting arms. Local training centers that are comparatively smaller may offer more (at least on paper) but are often even more likely to have issues. If you are new to China, I would suggest that you consider a university for the first year. Then, you can visit these schools and others to find the best option.

The location wasn't mentioned- I have a Skype interview with them soon, so I thought I'd do some research.

I have a colleague working at my international school that just finished up at Disney English. She worked very long hours for fairly small pay for Shanghai, and was not impressed with the company or their teaching methodology.

One person's experience, so take it as just a guide to help making your own decision.

There are threads from a few years ago about Disney English that you can look up.

I worked there for six months in 2010 and hated it. Poor management and long hours.
