				| Hi everyone,
I've just been asked to renew at my university, and will enter negotiations late next week.

I'm currently paid 10 months/year. I'm a bit unclear on how taxes are calculated... it kind of seems like it is done on a month-by-month basis, rather than averaged out over the year. If it is done month-by-month then it seems clear that having the salary paid out over 12 months is the right way to go.

Core question: I'm wondering if there are tax advantages to being paid over 12 months versus 10 months.

Any info regarding this is highly appreciated!

It's always been taxed monthly for me, and other people I know. I don't think you get to choose how you're taxed, it just comes out of your pay before you see it.
