Anybody have recommendations for document authentication for USA and Canada? I may need to authenticate documents while in China. Most of my docs are Canadian, and my master's degree is USA.
Thanks. |

Authentication will vary depending on where you are planning to go next.
Canada is not a member of the apostille treaty so an apostille is not an option on the Canadian documents.
Unless the employer requests it you do NOT need to authenticate your Masters for a teaching job.
Korea needs an apostille for the American documents and Korean embassy in Canada authentication for the rest.
Vietnam needs local (Canadian and US) embassy authentication in Vietnam.
Taiwan needs your documents authenticated at the Taiwan office in Canada/USA.
Thailand needs it done in Thailand at the respective embassy then confirmed at the Thai Ministry of Foreign affairs.

It's China, and the school is telling me they need authentication of my USA Master's degree.
Thank you for the informative post for the other countries. |

Canadian documents for use IN China need to be authenticated at the Chinese embassy / consulate in Canada. I don't know about your US masters.
They may accept an affidavit of authenticity from the Canadian and US embassies/consulates in China as acceptable authentication.
China is also not a member of the apostille treaty so an apostille is also not needed.
