RIZAP English.

Any thoughts?
To me it's surprising that there isn't a photo of even one foreign teacher on their site. |

Weird. The video doesnt say much either... someone with spare time could drop by a location that is close by... see what it is all about. |

Um, given that they don't appear to hire foreign instructors full-time...why would this be surprising? The website suggests that this is a juku for busy adults--lots of homework, repetitive drills, grammar/pattern practice and test preparation, with little "free" conversation. Many of the instructors brag about how being non-native speakers makes them better teachers.
My thoughts would include how the heck did you find out about this place and why are you asking?!
Finally...that mandatory, one-month 新人研修 sounds absolutely insane --more like preparation for joining a cult. Then add all the other mandatory meetings/training sessions each week/month/year (all listed on the website), and I think this is a workplace even most English-capable Japanese will avoid. |

I saw quite a bit of advertising for this mob on the trains in Tokyo towards the end of last year. Haven't noticed any in the last month or two though. My impression was that they were going for more upmarket clientele, given the abundance of gold lettering in their propaganda material.
They're offering a salary of only 210k a month with "incentives". That sounds about standard for Japanese teachers of English at eikaiwa schools. If you were going to hire native speakers at that kind of rate, you probably wouldn't be able to hire someone with much more than a pulse.
I was wondering about the name too. Is it meant to be a play on "rise up", to convey the impression that you can somehow elevate yourself to a new plane by doing English lessons with them?
Sounds like just another disingenuous, mob-run, rip-off eikaiwa money racket. I guess somebody needs an extra outlet to launder their money through. |

I think it is the same company for people to lose weight through their exercise program. |
