Hi
I have been asked to conduct such a course which is 3 weeks long. I have many years of practical teaching but this would be my first time actually training trainers. Any advice and help on how to approach this and/or subjects or issues which might need to be covered within the course would be appreciated.

What are the performance outcomes/goals? In other words, what are the learners expected to be able to do at the end of the course and in which context(s)? Who are your learners? Are you required to both develop and facilitate the course?

For free courses on training, head to lynda.com and search for each of the following:

• train the trainer
• design and deliver training programs

Lastly, the CDC's Training of Trainers (ToT) Model is a useful guide that can be adapted for your situation.

Incidentally, as regards pay, they are asking me for an expected 'daily rate' for my services. The work is in Kuwait. Any suggestions on a good but fair 'daily rate'

No one can say what pay rate is reasonable for your services without knowing the full scope of the work involved, the logistics, project deliverables, requisite competencies, etc., needed to do the job.

Since you're apparently new to training and course design, Google salary entry-level trainer for an idea of what to charge. Use a tool like Paycheck Calculator if needed.

Also search for how to set freelance corporate trainer rates to help you figure out which factors to consider relative to the scope of the work and your competencies. As a newbie, be mindful that you may end up putting in more of your time than you wanted for some aspects of the training.
