Hey guys,

Recently spent a few months in Bangkok and really liked it.

Just wondering if you could help me with a few questions, if this is the wrong place or they've already been answered, please direct me there.

If I have an MA in Applied Linguistics as well as 6 years non uni experience and 2 years experience teaching academic writing at a uni in China. I want to work in a University in Bangkok what conditions am I likely to be looking at? and when is the hiring period?
Also where is the best place to find these jobs online?

I would also consider non uni posts if they have better overall conditions

As mentioned on the thread linked above, you should look into "international program(me)s" at the top unis.

Wikipedia lists all of the universities nationwide:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_universities_and_colleges_in_Thailand

You can search for their websites and see if they have any open positions listed or the e-mail address of HR. I don't think the top ones advertise, at least not locally.

Also, I'd wait and see how next month's election pans out.

Western BA + MA in applied linguistics (depending on your passport) will get you a uni job teaching 15-18 hours per week + office hours at a salary + benefits = 33k baht/month. There are currently 2 posted on Ajarn Silpakorn and Suko Thai.

In a government school the salary and etc will be similar.

At a private school you will probably get between 40-60k baht and maybe medical thrown in.

Unless you are a state certified teacher you won't likely get a job in a decent international school (like Shrewsbury). You could probably find work in a lower ranked Inter but the salary is also significantly lower (50k baht range).
