China has acquired a very bad reputation in the EFL industry. In fact, many online teachers even avoid Chinese online jobs.
Are there any reputable Chinese employers?

Do your research before you come. If possible, work somewhere with an employer with a proven track record with foreigners. I have a fantastic job here. Most have been good or reasonable. But I have lots of experience and good quals, so can be picky. Not sure China is worse than anywhere else. Lots of choices here. It’s a huge country, not easy, lots of challenges - means lots of opportunities for those who are wise and willing to work hard and smart.
