Hello,
I am back in Medellin for yet another six month stint and looking to do my traditional month in a new city. I would like to try along the coast in a city like Cartagena or Santa Marta but can not find definitive recent information about the reliability of the Internet. I teach online and need a minimum of 10mb down and 2mb up without issues. Am I still dreaming, or can I venture to the coast now?
I prefer not you to use phone data plans as my group classes really eat up bandwidth. I have used speedify before in other countries with great results to bind services together for faster and reliable Internet. Yet again, if it ends up drawing mostly from the phone plan it can get costly.
Thank you |

Well, to answer my own question, I am holding off. I tried the route of contacting hostel and hotel owners and the more honest seeming responses led me to the conclusion that it might be too hit or miss. Going to head back to Manizales for a couple months. I like it there and a couple friends have said the Internet has improved. Neat little city if you head to the nice area, though hope I do not regret it with the Ring of Fire going wild and Manizales being the natural disaster capitol of the world. |
