I recently became aware of Diplomatic Language Services based in the Washington, DC metro area. I am writing to gather any information about them.

I see that they place "experienced instructors of of EFL in the Middle East...in a military setting". I am wondering what exactly this entails.

I have been based in China as a U.S. Department of State English Language Fellow and Specialist. I am looking to go and try somewhere different and continue to make decent money.

Warm regards,
twowheel

They use the DLIELC American Language Course curriculum. The only program I know of is in Dubai, but I have heard they may have just won a contract in Doha. They used to be a subcontractor on a program at the Royal Saudi Air Force in Dhahran, KSA.
I believe the pay in Dubai is around $90k, but a good portion of that is your housing stipend.
Don't know much more than that.

The housing is in Dubai but the work is on a military base an hour away. So a two hour daily commute. USD 4200 per month, but employees have to pay into social security, and USD 500 of that is a tranportation allowance. Cheapest way to go is to carpool if one is available, although ppl might like to start their day differently at 5:45 am. Classes from 7am - 2pm and then you're quickly ushered out of the building to commute home. Class sizes are capped at 12 or so, and the hotel apartment in DXB is spacious and modern.
