Pay and benefits have crashed in the last 10-15 years. What you are able to save depends on your lifestyle. It might be enough for a single person who doesn't do much drinking or partying to save some.

The days of saving big bucks in the Gulf are long gone. This is basically the pay that I got in Oman 20+ years ago. But it is a fascinating and beautiful country

It's an ad for the colleges of applied science.

They get a new recruiting company every other year, along with a decrease in salary and slashing of what little benefits are left. No annual flights or gratuity.

As VS said, the good days in the gulf are over. This job is only suitable for the truly desperate.

The technology colleges are hiring again for a living wage. I agree that the College of Applied Sciences are to be avoided, though.
