Hello all, posted a few messages here over the last month preparing for my arrival in taiwan. Got some very helpful replys to my problems. Now i am actually here in taiwan, and all is well except for one thing.

Accomodation is my problem, i've met a couple of guys over here, and we want to get a cheap 3 or 4 bedroom apartment in central city area. As long as it's close to the MRT we're not too fussed exactely where it is. It seems to be difficult to find an apartment with 3 rooms free however. A lot of rooms available for one person to move into an established flat, but very little for 3 people. We've tried tealit and forumsa (or whatever it's called) but with little luck.

Other ideas are looking in english newspapers or getting a native taiwanese person to ring up real estate agents for us. Does anyone have any advice? is there a list of cheap apartments for rent anywhere??

Any suggestions much appreciated

I know this guy Alex Wang. C.P. 0922-007738. He's got some great places in Tamshui, might help you out. The complex has a swimming pool, a free internet cafe'; a movie theater, pool hall; has an ocean view and tv in every room; airconditioning and the works. I think if you pooled your funds it'd only be about 30,000 tops, including deposit.

Pick a neighbourhood. Take a Chinese friend. Find the posting boards around the local schools. Have him/her translate, set-up interviews and negotiate for you. U will most likely need him/her to sign your lease as well. It sux, but its reality.

Do it my way and you'll have a place in two hours. But you cannot do it by yourself.
