I keep seeing that China is ludicrously easy to find work in irrespective of qualifications, however, all the jobs I have seen on the job board seem to require a CELTA and possibly experience.

I have a degree and a good heart and am pretty much willing to work just about anywhere to rescue me from my comfy rut. My options are restricted, however, because signing up to a full time CELTA would mean quitting my job and losing my flat. I can't really do that till I am about to jet off so you see my tricky predicament. I have thought about doing a part time course but it takes.....so......long and I am really keen to get out ASAP.

What do you reckon then?

with motivation and a bachelor, you are already more than qualified to teach in China. Most of those guys ask for the moon but they will settle for the suirs of Venice... If you really have a hard time, PM me and I'll give you some pointers

It's sometimes easier to find a job than to keep it

I came to China twelve months ago without a Degree, Qualifications or anything and I simply love the life here. I do not advocate that people should necessarily do this especially if they are young, but in my circumstances (I was then 56) it proved to be the thing to do. I was however VERY MOTIVATED and determined to succeed here. It was very daunting for the first week or so. I would strongly recommend that you do a Celta Course or similar if you can afford it.

My School says I can remain here for many years if I wish and that is great seeing that female Chinese teachers retire at 55 and I will turn 58 just after Christmas.

You have a 'Good Heart' - meaning at least you are a living & breathing body.

If all else fails you meet the EF China criteria.
