Hi all,
I have a weird question, but I am wondering. Anyway, I am going to an AEON interview in the next few weeks. However, I am kinda wondering if I do get picked and all that jazz and move to Japan..how it will be. The thing is is that I am gay. While of course I don't intend to be sleeping around or anything, I did not know how accepting it is there. I mean in the end, I can hide it and just not being it up if I goo..which in the end would not bother me....but I was just wondering. Anyone have any information on this? |

Japan is like most other places. The larger cities are more accepting of homosexuals, and even have some clubs. I know of a few clubs that has female impersonators shows. If you do come to Japan just be discreet. Since you are a foreigner most people will be more tolerant of you than with someone like me. |

I find that the Japanese tend to have a very natural acceptance of homosexuality. They seem to see it as a natural part of life and treat it as such. I don't think you'll have any problems being yourself. |

The Japanese are very tolerant of homosexuals/homosexuality. It's really no big deal to them. The thing that they wince at is open displays of affection of any kind (though this is changing somewhat, and is obviously mostly nonexistent at certain Tokyo bars). Basically, don't worry about it. If you're going to be in Okinawa, shoot me an email as I've been a gay servicemember there and I could recommend a few bars.
