Genki is feeling good and energetic. Sort of like perky. Bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Genki is difficult to summarize in one English word. The closest IMO would be "vibrant"

Literally, genki means "healthy" or "energetic." But I also agree with the other two posters...definately "vibrant" and "perky" and I'll add "happy-go-lucky"(type of person).

I thought Genki meant "good"

Ogenki desu ka? Hai, Genki desu.

Are you feeling good? yes, good.

The word for good in Japanese is 'yoi' or 'ii'

e.g. kibun ga yoi or 'good feeling' or relaxed state of mind etc.

When asking how some one is, you may ask 'genki desi ka' how 'how are you'?

'Genki' then means fine or healthy, or not sick.
