I am interested in pursuing my M.A. in TESOL. I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good programs. I have my B.A. in TESOL. Any honest feedback about programs would be very helpful.
Thanks! |

University of New England in Australia has a one year online Masters course in Applied Linguistics. It's also offered under HECS (cheaper) if you are Australian. The website is www.une.edu.au It is fairly easy and you don't need any prior linguistics knowledge. Some countries like Taiwan may not recognise online degrees. However the University don't in any way state that the program is online. The University of Southern Queensland also has an online degree but I don't know any details about this one. I think there are also a few based in England as well.

If you are in the US, Shenandoah has an MSC in TESOL

School of International Training offers a Masters in TESOL as well.
Australian programs are good, including MacQuarie University and University of New England (accreditted).
British Masters degrees are good too, but expensive. |

| Where did you do the B.A. TESOL? I've never heard of such a program before. |

As someone previously mentioned, USQ is a good school.
www.usq.edu.au
I started there about 3 months ago and there are a couple more regular posters here that also study there. I recommend them, but it is a lot of work. |

Wow, thanks, everyone for your suggestions.
I received my B.A. from Carroll College in Helena, Montana. I didn't realize it was uncommon. Hmmm?! |

I'd like to do a masters but really dont want to do it in TEFL, TESOL, linguistics...... bored after DELTA, you see.
Any suggestions of subjects that are related to the field but have a certain edge? |

| 'Vre', if you think DELTA is in any way at all related to (what you call) "linguistics" (God only knows what you mean by that) then you are off on a tangent. |

Is that what I said? I don't think so. Read again! I was merely listing some of the masters programmes' subjects that are closest to my field in the broad sense, which I don't happen to want to pursue.
So.. Thanks for your suggestions anyway, Ludwig |

| vre, do mean you are bored because of the DELTA or bored because you have a yearning to do something after the DELTA? |

DMB, I have a little flexibility now, after DELTA and with my new job. Thus I want to do a masters in something I would really enjoy. I really enjoyed DELTA and have no intentions of quitting my new job but would like to challenge myself with a new domain, e.g. social anthropology or something else. After all, why not?
PS the 'bul is cool!
PPS. Did you know there is an MA in DEATH studies at Uni of Wales, Lampeter in UK? I suppose a PHD would make you Dr. Death huh? |

| Aston University has an office in Istanbul. It's mainly distance learning but the tutors do make regular trips out here. I can get the info if you want. |
