|
|
Hello everyone!
Does anyone know of schools that are looking for ESL teachers in Beijing or is anyone currently in Beijing that can give me more information? Recently, the only job postings that I see for Beijing are from Yakup International/China Talent. However, as I have been doing my research on this company, it seems as if they are on the blacklist. Most of the message postings on them have been negative besides this one debatable posting.
Has anyone dealt with Yakup International/China Talent or is currently dealing with them? I would greatly appreciate it you guys can comment on your experiences with them.
Thanks! |

I came to China 12 months ago through Yakup International and I cannot really say anything bad about them. I was very green - but I think it is okay to come with a Recruiter if you hold out for what you want i.e. the area you wish to be in, the salary you want, the age of the children you would prefer to teach etc. etc.
If you watch out for your own interests, I think using a Recruiter has some benefits. He paid for my 3 nights in Beijing including Hotel, meals, sightseeing etc. while he found a school for me Northwest of Shanghai.
The salary was less than he promised, but then I was not in the know then and had someone advised me, as I am advising you, I would have been more on the ball. |

Yakup is one of those businesses that backfire in nine out of ten transactions; the one that went well will be their mascot! |

Hi guys thank you for all your replies!
BURNSIE: I have searched on That's Beijing. com, however most of the teaching job positions on there are either not actually in Beijing or do not offer accomodations or you would have to already be in Beijing. So that's a problem. But, thanks for your suggestion. I really appreciate it!
RHONDA: How do I find jobs without a recruiter??
ROGER: You're right about YAKUP. The more I look into it, the more shady the company sounds. It was just that I was getting a little bit desperate and lost any sign of common sense whatsoever. Thanks for the "smack in the face"! |

You can post in the "job wanted" section of many websites including thatsbeijing.com and this one. Specify that you are seeking a position in Beijing. |
