I came to China a year ago with a Recruiter called YAKUP INTERNATIONAL.
As far as I can tell, from what I have read on Daves, most Recruiters are the same - all they are interested in is placing you anywhere and getting their commission.
If you come to China with a Recruiter, it is up to you to watch out for your own interests at all times - that way you should have no problem.
Know what you expect and where you would like to be and go for it. |

There are so many other options to try before using recruiters. There may be a handful that are legitimate but I doubt it. I would avoid them at all costs. |

Cambridge Canada - know anything about it?
How can you be sure someone is who they say they are?
Are government schools very different from private schools - I would think they would be. |

I've only been around for 7 months but I have never heard of any of those guys. My wife and I did come here using a little known recruiter that has done everything he's promised. I still keep in touch with the guy and I know of other folks who have used his services with the same results. They are having problems with their website right now but you don't loose anything by giving them a hollar.

there are lots of recruitment agencies here in changchun.. the three you mentioned seemed to be here.. hahaha.. star education, there are two. one can't process Z visa so they will just renew your L visa monthly and they will charge you for it..
Canada College? what is it? Maybe it's the Lambton College (attached to Jilin University...)
5,500.. public school? i guess its a primary school (as offered to me by star educ.) but the place is outside changchun..
some recruiters are just recruiters in Changchun but they have sub-agencies in nearby Counties and Cities in the same province. the problem with this set-up is, you have to chase two offices for your salary, visa and stuff... moreso, you will have two agents, meaning two or more people will have a cut on your salary..
recruiters will promise many things... most of it won't come to pass. i heard they ask applicants to sign the contract in person.. but the thing is, there are some others coming for one post.. you might end up branded as UNQUALIFIED and you will be left hanging in mid-air. they will tell you to go back to your country... if you are ready to come to changchun and be asked to go back after three days because you are UNEMPLOYABLE, then come by all means.. not a threat.. but just something you can consider..
if you think i can help you confirm some offices/agencies/universities, please let me know... i'm on my Nth year in changchun, teaching at the same university eversince.. |
