I had this problem and wondered if it is very common. |

What problem?
If you mean overbooking, did they return your deposit?
Sounds like inefficiency, a popular course or routine overbooking to cover for late drop-outs (like what the airlines do). Most likely the former. |

Could you send me the name of the school?
In general, I recommend avoiding TEFL courses. There are no guarantees in life, but you have to go Celta / Trinity or you don't know what you'll get.
By the way, most TEFL websites don't care about the validity of the ads they have on their site. They just take the advertising money and let the buyer beware.
I suspect this scam is bigger than most people realize. Person sets up a website for a course that doesn't exist, advertises on any one of a dozen Mr Magoo's ESL Website clones and then wait for the applications and the fees to come rolling in.
It's just a vague shadow in my crystal ball right now.
Anyway, I'd appreciate details by PM or email if you're willing to give them. |
