Here's my "personal problem".
I had been planning to take the CELTA in Feb 2005 and then travel around Europe a bit with my friend. My friend just started school in England this month, as an exchange student. She has just emailed me to say that she "might not want to travel" at our planned time, but that she won't be able to make up her mind for a few weeks.
So I'm thinking... I don't want to sit on my ass in Canada waiting for her to make up her mind, when I could go over to Europe earlier, take the CELTA, and then look for a job in January. Do you think that a recent CELTA graduate with a BA in English would do alright looking for work in January? I'm not too picky about where I go... warm or cold... just looking for a decent salary and acceptable standard of living!
It seems ridiculous to pass up the chance to start work in January when, for all know, she might decide at the last minute not to travel...
Also, will the people running my CELTA course frown upon the fact that I want to switch dates? Will it make me look... rash? |
