Well I heard that the entry salary is around Sr6/7000 but I do believe that this is for people with the very minimal req. such as a BA and a couple of years exp.
I heard Jubail and Dammam were similar.
I don't know much about the Universities in Jeddah but I did hear that the community college works you very hard and is not the greatest of places to work, could be wrong though! |

Dammam, Hail and Hafr Al-Baten were or are all part of KFUPM, so you get the KFUPM salary scales there.
Jeddah is either independent, or depends on King Abdul Aziz University. |

Thanks Stephen,
So how does the figure being thrown about of Sr6-7000 compare to KFUPM? It seems pretty low but then again that is supposed to be for the bottom end of the scale.
I've heard good things about KFUPM and Jubail but why is there such a ghostly silence about KAAU? It seems strange but I have heard very little either good or bad.
What's a teacher to think? |

In the EFL world silence is golden.
I presume we have heard little about KAAU because people have nothing bad to say about it. Also it probably has low turnover and a small English department. Remember that KFUPM and Jubail and Yanbu industrial colleges conduct all teaching in English, and also have been expanding rapidly, so jobs are frequently advertises and there are a large number of new teachers.
As for the salary of SR6,000 I can only say I don't know of many qualified western expats who would come to Saudi for that salary, even if there wasn't a security problem. |

A plonker is the male member. Do I need to be more explicit ?
Seriously do not go to JCC. There are much better employers. |
