I have tried to use the quote function on this site a couple of times and always end up cutting and pasting into my reply. Can anyone tell me how to do it?

Any help would be gratefully received.

There should be a FAQ for this!

There are two ways to quote. Firstly, when you reading a message you can see a "Quote" button at the top right of the message. Pressing this will cause the whole message to be copied with a "Post a reply" window. Something like this:

[quote="Original Sender"]Some words of wisdom, blah blah blah[\quote]

Note, I've changed the "/" to "\" so it doesn't get parsed properly are you can see what's actually going on.

The second method becomes available once you've opened the "Post a reply" window. Above you'll see a number of buttons, among them is quote. In order for it to work, you need to click on it twice. I usually click on it twice and cut and paste - you pays your money you takes your choice.

After you've clicked on the button the first time, just type in the sender details as above, that is:

[quote="dduck"]

remembering that it needs end quote to work properly. Smile
