Awesome!!!! Thank you!
So for schools that I attempt communicating with before I arrive in Taiwan, if they come back saying "it's required by law for you to have a Bachelor's degree"... is it ok for me to push back on them?
I guess there would be no harm in trying since they're telling me that they won't look at my application but I just don't want to do anything that would be culturally offensive by pushing back on them.
Would they appreciate this kind of persistence or would it be frowned upon? |
Heheh. I tried that once, even sending them the link to the web site. The school just ignored me. The way I figure it, if they're interested in you they won't come away with the you need a BA bs.
Seriously though, you should consider getting a BA, as I am now doing. It will open up a whole lot of doors for you. |

some day I will. I have 3 years experience working in computer programming without one and make really good money so it hasn't been a priority.
Once you have enough of a resume anything is possible. |

There is plenty of work, you will have no problems finding a job. Tell your employer you have all the qualifications they require and that they are in the mail. Explain that you would prefer to work without an ARC for tax reasons in your own country.
Get a multiple entry visa for business purposes through the local travel agent that sold you your plane ticket.
So long as you are white and claim to be a native speaker you are qualified in the eyes of your racist, dishonest and ignorant Taiwanese employer.

Good luck,
