|
|
Hello people,
I hope to move to HCMC in the next year. I want to find a quality exercise gym I can join. Are there any gyms that are affordable? The only gyms I found when I visitede were either way to expensive or right next to a busy street (I don't want to breath exhaust). Thank's for any and all insight.

I've been told there's a good one on the top floor of Diamond Plaza, air-conditioned and comparatively cheap ($40 per month?). Never been there myself, I only go up there to play snooker |

There are a few nice gyms - the one past Le Thanh Ton just before you get to the Eiffel Tower has an olympic size pool, but a fairly spartan weight room.

Also, the pool has the bar in it, which is nice.

And the white robe treatment, roof-top pool and other nicities. I think it is a little more expensive than that, but I'm not sure. |

I think they open at two o'clock.
There are free weights and pullies, etc. No fancy modern equipment. |

There are a lot of variety for gyms and "fitness centers."
You will find all levels, from free weight gyms that costs 80,000 Dong per month to 5-star hotel "fitness centers" that cater to the "I want to lose weight but don't know how" folks who fork over big bucks for the jacuzzi and sauna, with a stairmaster thrown in.
Seriously, there are dozens upon dozens of options:
free weight, nautilus, cardio, swimming, and covered tennis courts. |

Hi EricC
There are many options consider the ones below. I find Lan Anh to be pretty good albeit pretty pretentious. You get the odd dude who goes there dressed as if he's going to a Barry Manilow look alike contest.
I sometimes also like to go the one on Hai Ba Trung - see Ozburn post. Everytime I go there are no ex-pats which is pretty refreshing. I do actually want to gym and not talk crap about the city all day. |

Dear Mr. Snafu:
Although you may well be correct in your confident assertions about the ready availability of a very wide range of gyms, it would be much more helpful if you would post some addresses and prices. It is not really helpful to be told that one "will find" something that one has not so far found, despite considerable searching. |

Hey Ozburn:
Eric did not specify his 1. price range 2. workout regimen 3. preferences in particular.
There is no need to list addresses and prices before he even gets here.
He needs to come here and VISIT the places FIRST.
As for Lan Anh I used to go there (on a break now) and I don't see what you see. |

I am looking for a gym that I can 1) lift weights, 2) use cardio equipment, 3) punch a heavy boxing bag, 4) Not breath in pollution from the street.
I think I could pay $25-60$ a month, and would consider having two gym memberships to meet my needs.
Is this possible??
Thank's for your insight.
