Hello Japan forum guys. My wife Megumi and I are moving back to Japan after being back in the US since 2000. I have to tell you that I'm really looking forward to the move. I miss ramen, I miss udon, I miss late night yatai's on the weekend. I was a teacher in Yamaguchi-ken for 4 years and really had a great experience. I look forward to chatting with ya'll. |

Hey what a coinkidink!
I too went back to the US in 2000 with my J-girly after teaching in Shikoku for 4 years. I just came back late last year and yeah, it's nice to be back.
I'm not married to a Megumi though.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy Japan as much as, if not more than, before. |

Speed. Got to tell you that I really dig Speed Racer. Used to watch it every afternoon after school. Yea, I think this time my experience will be much richer in Japan this time around. I can speak Japanese now and am looking forward to jawing with my wifes parents in Yamaguchi-ben. Its going to be good.

We too were living in the US from 2000 and came back here to have our child. It gets pretty shocking here at times but a far cry better than there, for me. You can appreciate it here a lot more the second time around, all the more so if your leaving wasn't by choice. |
