Do you ever get in a MOOD -- the kind where you feel really restless and irritable, and you can't stand to plan classes. I have to teach for four hours tomorrow, and I haven't really planned what to do yet. There have been a couple false starts, but that's it. How do I get out of this irritation/funk. I think I may take a short limp -- I mean walk -- and go buy beer (which is unusual for me) and candy. Maybe those will help me. Maybe this is even fuel for class tomorrow, as I'm teaching teachers. They most have had the same problem.

Hi kurochan
I reckon it's good sometimes NOT to plan...some of my best lessons have just been ad hoc.

And I'm stilled tanked from a 'formal' dinner I attended today with 20 notables...I was the only English speaker but I was informed that it was impolite not to completely drain the glass after each speech, and there were 20 of them! (the only speech I understood was mine Laughing )

So it'll be ad hoc tomorrow for me Rolling Eyes

Whenever I'm in a mood, I usually throw my planner out and do something different just for the heck of it. Study a song, watch a movie, take the students out to the sportsfield and teach thema new sport..... Anything to try and get out of that.

I do remember calling in WEIRD a few weeks ago and it was for the best. I just made the classes up on a later date

Can you ask your teachers if they feel the same way sometimes and get a discussion out of it ?

I just take a holiday. Today is day 3 of a 10 day holiday for me (we actually had a 7 day holiday scheduled but, thanks to a school sports meet, that extended to 2 more days and the day before that was my regularly scheduled day off). My god, I swear I'm off more than I work!
