I have been at my kindergarten for just over 2 months,I work for the same company but different kindy.you no what really gets to me is the lack of people that dont care about what they do.
i have a team leader who doesnt care.we have english meetings which are pointless.I have asked at our meetings for techers guides for the books we use, nothing gets done.my team leader is someone i should be able to go to if there are any problems or if i need anything.that does not work.

the english team are supposed to be putting on a show with the children.i ask for infomation what day is the show?when can we start to practice?stuff like this well he does not know,so i went to find out from the principle she said go and ask your team leader.i then asked for a meeting with the english team to talk about what we could do for the show.no one wants a meeting.the show is early december. and no one has ideas

we are meant to be the english team there is me (new zealander) and 3 chinese english teachers,Iam the only western person here.we are not a team at all we are individuals doing our own thing.if you need ideas for a class somtimes you always get told you are on your own.

Im just frustrated the money maybe good but i also want job satisfaction as well.i care about the children and about my job.
it seems like they can take the parents money not a problem but dont offer anything else.if the teachers needs are not met how can you meet the childrens needs.
i want to be able to go to work and do my job as best i can,i dont want the crap that goes with it.i dont want to feel frustrated all the time.

You'll just have to settle for doing the best you can under the circumstances and judge yourself according to your own criteria. You'll be able to do nothing about what you find around you. It's a cultural thing. And, as you're doing this, research a job where circumstances are likely to be different. Someone who uses this forum may be able to give you some suggestions.

I think you'd better find a title for your next posting. How about "Can you recommend a Chinese kindergarten where I can find job satisfaction?'

Why not amend your original posting and give it a title?

I've done some Kindergarten shows. Take it easy! Have the kids do three Acts.

Act I: Christmas is coming the Geese are getting fat (Nursery Rhyme)

Have the words printed up on a big paper card or blackboard. Have a few kids dress up as geese clothes and do mine actions, play the rhyme on a cassette player.

Act II: Christmas Gifts - Toys

Put a small Christmas tree on a low table and make some dummy presents. Role play opening the gifts and identifying the toys.
Teacher: Let's look at the gifts!
Pupil 1: Yes, let's look at the gifts!
T: Oh, let's see what's inside the gifts!
Pupil 2: Yes, lets see what's inside the gifts!
T: Here's your gift Tommy!
P3: Thank you.
etc, etc.

Act III: Jingle Bells

In Choir arrangement, dress the kids up in red and yellow, do mine/actions, play the jingle bells song.
