Does anyone know what the sitch is with New Times Hebei International Education Services?
Got offered a job with them, but am reluctant to sign up with a potentially dodgey agency for 6 months if the case may be.
Anyone know of them or heard anything? |

My wife and I used their services to secure our current jobs. I have nothing but good things to say about Mr. Dou and his staff as they have always treated us well and they do still check on us fairly often. To be fairly honest, I am friends with the whole staff and I visit them in Shijiazhuang every so often (I was there 2 weeks ago).
I know of a few other teachers that they have placed and they seem to be pretty happy. I think the best thing about them is knowing that if there are problems with your school, they are there to give you a hand.
They'll get you the job and then it's up to you to negociate the final contract terms with your school.
PM if you need more info. I don't want to sound too biased. |

Have found placements through New Times International, am fully satisfied with the service they provided and would recommend their services to those who would like a little piece of mind on entry to China for the first time, or for shorter term positions, or even if you just want don't want to run through the possible troubles of searching for a school yourself.
New Times International provide a service to teachers which is reasonably reliable(all things considered, it's China), and they are an established service. They are not really there to hold your hand through your cultural integration/adjustment, which initially seems a little perturbing to many(it is a different world). However that might be just considered cultural discomfort on entry(culture shock). And after a little time and hind sight, most people view it as such. Mostly it is up to the idividual to make the effort like many things, experience is individual and relates directly to your personality and maybe...luck.
Have been quiet up to now, have just a small experience at this stage, have been here watching a small time. Appriciated the helpful postings and opinions. Thanks to those that take the time. |
