My parents are coming to see me here in Japan next spring, but they are having a hard time finding a cheap way to do it. I know its expensive to travel here any ways, but do any of you have any ideas??

If they want to do anything other than visit you, they should get a Japan Rail Pass. They must buy it before they come to Japan. Here is a link for decent-priced business hotels. They have hotels all over Japan and they go for about 8,000 yen/night for a double. I often use them and am happy with the quality and price.

Depending on the time of year, you can fly to Japan quite reasonably. Summer and Christmas are bad times as prices for flights go way up.
