Just like email but you get related ads inserted in the email depending on the content of what you write. It does a search of your mail text and picks out key words from the text and plugs in a free ad. |

Yeah, there are a few privacy issues surrounding gmail which means I'll pass thanks. The good thing about gmail is that it offers 1GB of storage space, but if you want that you can get it here also: http://www.rediff.com |

I'm confused on why you're offering the ones you have to people- you can get one for free on your own at gmail.com. Do you just have some with really cool usernames or something? |

Actually u cant get gmail just by signing up. U have to be invited as its still in the experimental phase.... its good to grab ur addresses now before everyone else gets the one u want....

Gmail is an experiment in a new kind of webmail, built on the idea that you should never have to delete mail and you should always be able to find the message you want.

It is by far the best free email on the internet. If you are paranoid and think someone really cares about reading your email, the system is not for you. (By the way, no person reads your email, a mail server reviews it for keywords and inserts unobtrusive text ads on the side of the page - regardless of what email service you use, your email is sitting on someone else's server) You get a gig of storage space for free, there are some really original features, like threaded email, and you no longer need to sort anything because there is a built in search function. I've had my account for about 6 months now and I love it. 1000MB sure beats Hotmail's 2MB.

I now get 250MB of storage on my Hotmail account for free, so I'll stick with it. I don't trust gmail, I know B.Gates can't be trusted either. |
