I know its a bit early, but I'm trying to land a short term summer position in China. Anyone know of a website or two that usually has adverts for short term teaching jobs in China? |

Hi NG,
it's way too early to try and get anything going for the summer. Most of the schools are trying to find folks the next semester and summer is just too far away.
I'm thinking that you have a better chance with the usual suspects (AES, EF, Shane...). No matter what, you shouldnt have any problems getting a position for the summer. |

I hope that, as people do find summer jobs next spring, they'll post their good fortunes here. Most summer camps need a large quantity of foreign teachers and I believe that living in China gives us an advantage over people coming from abroad. I mean, we can call the place at very little cost and maybe even go visit the city one weekend before actually accepting a job.
I definitely want to leave Hangzhou next summer and work elsewhere. Farther north might be nice where I assume it will be hot but perhaps not quite as sweltering as it could get here. I wouldn't mind working in Beijing and exploring that city as my last hurrah before leaving China for good (forever? never say never!).
So, I urge all regular posters to keep us "posted" as the opportunities start to come along. |

I think that the biggest thing right now is that it is too early to plan for those suckers. 2 of the summer camps I wanted to do this past summer ended up being canceled at the last minute despite months of planning. My wife and I had planned our whole summer around them so we did not take kindly to that. Lucky us, the recruiter we deal with was able to find us something similar albeit a little farther away than we would have liked.
