Can anyone recommend a good financial planner or mutual fund company who can help me map out a retirement strategy when I move overseas?

Thank you,
John

your post is kind of vague. In order to start investing, you will need to know the answer to a lot of things.

Where are you going? How long will you be out of the country? (if its only 1-2 years, dont worry about investing, just saving. You can invest it when you get back)

How will you get the money into the account on a regular basis?

What kind of retirement are you looking for? Is it realistic based on your current and projected income?

Financial planners are expensive and personally not worth it unless you have quite a bit of money (IMHO). You can do research yourself. I manage my own investment. Again, IMHO, the best mutual fund company out there is Vanguard Check out their website at www.vanguard.com. Its a good place to start educating yourself. Even if you do use a financial planner, you will get more out of him/her, the more you know yourself.

Unlike the guy in "The Graduate" who had one word for Benjamin, PLASTICS, I have two: VENEZUELAN BONDS. Check with a brokerage firm.
