The United States Military uses a course of instruction called "The American Language Course". It's 34 volumes of mind-numbing behaviorism.
Listen - Repeat.
Define Objectives - Model - Perform.
Don't correct. If performance doesn't meet objectives repeat whole process.
Then to get a job in NATO HQ they have to answer oral exam questions like:
"Had you the wherewithal to effect a change in [Iraq, Afghanistan, whatever] what measures might you have implemented?"
Whenever someone mentions American Military language training, be afraid. Be VERY AFRAID. |
