Anybody worked for them, especially in Chongqing, China?
Or know it by reputation?
How is is?
Also, considering I don't have a university degree, just my high school diploma and advanced TESOL certificate, and very little teaching experience, are 5500 RMB/month good pay? I'll work around 20-25 hours a week...
Your advice will be apreciated! |

There are several bad reports about this employer on this website, ESL Teacher's Board and Nate's School Review; search by Chongqing United Foreign Language Institute and/or CUFLI.
CUFLI recruits and employs foreign teachers and then sub-contracts them to elementary & secondary schools. CUFLI pays your salary but you live at, and are under the direction of, the school principal.
Chongqing is like New York in that the name applies to both a big city, and a state (province). So, getting a position in Chongqing could mean that you are assigned to a remote, rural high school.
I believe that most, but not all, of CUFLI's assignments are in remote rural schools. |

For teaching in Chongqing you'll be safer working for Golden or Wancheng or finding a University job there, probably your best bet if you go there is to check it out and other places as well, 1 thing to keep in mind is CUFLI doesnt have a license to hire foreigners so your probably going to get a visa stating your an engineer or mechanic or something, if you have trouble with them there is nothing you can do couse your contract would be illegal couse they cant hire you and your visa wont be through their company so they will not have any legal responsibility to you so....well good luck...lol |
