				| Overall who decides where you live if you are a couple? From what you read here it is the woman(submissive appearing or otherwise). Marriage just got better looking. | |

				| This 'submissive' Chinese woman thing is a myth. It's the women who run things here. (though in traditional western style they do let the man think he is). The reason women generally get the raw end of the deal here is that Chinese women are far superiour to Chinese men (in intelligence and common sense) and the men know it. So while the men have the upper hand they use it to keep the women down. They know that if they didn't it wouldn't be long before the women were running the show.

				| Women don't want to be running the show. They just want to rule the roost. Let the man do battle with the outside world while you have the final say at home. Pretty good deal... OP attests to this ethic. | |

 No.

My boss makes all the coin for his family and his lazy wife sits around and files her nails all evening, shops during the day, and does nothing in the rest of the time.

Her husband does what he is told.

Just kidding. Any kind of sexism is repulsive.

yes, well said mate but I would add that there should be a place you don't go beyond. We come from a place and a culture of which they know NOTHING!

The women in our own societies watch us grow up, they see what roles we are destined to play. I have assumptions about the place women will play in my life.

For better or worse to have a relationship with a Chinese girl for any length of time demands a large rethink in how men and women look at each other.

				| I like to fool myself into thinking that our decision are mutual but I know better. I like the ones where we can't agree and we have to resort to rock, paper, scissors for the outcome...those can't be debated at all. | |

We've considered that (i.e., my wife and I), but her parents do a great job in looking after our little baby daughter. Hence, it makes practical sense to remain where we are for the time being, even if her mother is apt to complain a lot about this, that and the other. It's been a lifelong habit with her, so we just have to put up with it ...

My wife and I do this fairly often. Guess who wins almost every single time?
