Hi All:
Considering a move to Japan and am wondering if I can bring my Korean wife with me. She's applied for her landed immigrant status in Canada but for the time being, remains a South Korean national.
Does anybody know if she'd be allowed to live with me (as a resident, providing that she doesn't work?
Thanks. |

You're married, so she almost certainly qualifies for dependant visa status. This would be the way to go regardless of whether she had Canadian or Korean or both citizenship. |

Of course she's "allowed" to live with you. She's your wife. Japan is not some sort of fascist nation. I know several people with wives from other countries. As long as she has a valid passport, Japan has no reason to stop her from entering the country. Look into that dependent visa.
And, if she works on the side (under the table), who knows how much you two can make? One of my friends is married to a Thai woman who teaches dance and cooking and language like that, and that doubles their income. |
