A happy new year to all posters here, both friends and not so friends, I hope your 2005 proves as or more fullfilling than 2004 was.

A prosperous year to those who desire it, be it material, spiritual, or personal. Even if you don't make resolutions, may you achieve many of your goals this year, and still have some to go for in 2006.

My little resolution is to be nice to everyone, at least for a month or so.

All the best to those in Latin America, from the land of the Morning Calm.

Hi Mike,

Happy new year!
Well, this is it, I bought my tickets and I'm off to Guatemala next week! Hopefully I'll find a teaching job otherwise I might have to return to Mexico-City.
So wish me luck and thanks for your helpful replies!
I wish you all the best of luck for 2005

Myriam

I think you'll be OK, the school year will be starting in early-mid January and there are sure to be schools who suddenly find they need an English teacher, plus parents who realize their kids have forgotten all their English since school finished back in October.

Good luck!

Nice to see the door close on 2004, which the Spanish newspaper EL PAS called "The Year of Ignominy"....and which one of my best friends, who's having her stomach removed because they found a bleeding tumor, called "The Year from Hell".

Agreed. Maybe it's something in the stars or numbers, but 2004 was crap for the world and myself personally.

2005 is already starting to feel good.

Hey, Guy! It's good to see your smiling face again! I enjoyed your holiday photos, but this is a nice picture.

To everyone else--Happy New Year! It's already good here, as the little one is officially out of diapers. WooHoo! Just washed and folded the last load of diapers, and I'm packing them all away in the attic today--kind of sad. A whole stage gone...

Happy 2005 Tamara

When you're smilin'....keep on smilin'
The whole world smiles with you
And when you're laughin'....keep on laughin'
The sun comes shinin' through

But when you're cryin'.... you bring on the rain
So stop your frownin'....be happy again
Cause when you're smilin'....keep on smilin'
The whole world smiles with you

The great big world will smile with

The whole wide world will smile with you

Happy New Year, to all.

I just got back from Venezuela, where I spent a wicked fantastic Christmas and ate more pernil than humanly possible. Let me tell you why I love that country: they stuff their pernil with bacon.

Salud!
