|

Here is my situation:
I am native English speaker with a TESOL certificate and two years of university. I am taking a gap year and am looking to teach in China. I have been offered a contract from the Buckland Education Group and am hoping to accept it. I have done my research on this site and they seem to be the favoured among recruiters.
Here is the problem: I asked about the foreign expert certificate and whether it is legal for me to work in China without one (I know it is not)?
The woman I have been talking to gave me this response:
"We did offer the foreign experts certificate to some of our teachers at least with BA degree and teaching experience . It is illegal for us to apply this certificate for the teachers without these qualification, but we have a licence for hiring foreigners, so we can applying working permit and visa for these teachers. It is no problem to teach in Buckland. "
Is this valid? My main concern is what happens if I get caught without one?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you in advance:o) |

| Yes, I believe that in order to qualify as a "Foreign Expert", you need to have at least a BA, and be signed to a 1 year contract, (someone correct me if I'm wrong here). |

FE books have been issued to folks without BA's and without one year contracts...
Wheither or not it can be done is up to the provential gov. but the central rule is no BA..no teaching...but as they say in a diffrent region there may be dif rules..
What they may be speakin of is the Alian Workers permit...which some schools use but may not be leagal for all companies dpending on the work skill used in the China...
When the PSB look for teachers without books they are looking for the FE book. |

| I have twice had a 'foreign expert's certificate'. Both times I signed a five month contract. I do have a BA. |

I have had jobs with and jobs without a FE certificate; it doesn't really depend on Buckland but on the school they will dump you in. As far as I know you will be shipped to another place for employment, which will then be your legal employer.
Do a search in the archives on 'Buckland". They have generated widely different assessments! They are agents, not your employer! |
