I took the course with them last July. Excellent course. Do a search on here to find more comments on it. The head grammar teacher is really great, but you will have to work hard.

I know lots about the TEFL int' course. I'm asking about the people at the centre in Thailand (ie TEFL int HQ) and if anybody knows if those guys are all OK.

they should be just fine, considering their location. The majority of trouble was on the other side (west) of the gulf.

Why don't you e-mail their Phuket office to see? The Ban Phe one will obviously be okay!

Do you want me to try and get their number and/or e-mail address?

Bruce might be around on the training part of this board, if so you can ask him!

The guys on Phuket are great. Stephen, the head grammar guy, is really quite brilliant. He really makes you study. Kinda the socratic method of teaching grammar; he'll just go around the room to see if you've paying attention, asking grammar questions and teaching ideas. If you haven't studied, you'll definitely feel like an idiot. He's really funny too - sometimes making fun of the students who don't study. Okay, perhaps that's a bit twisted, but I definitely enjoyed the class.
Pete, the teacher who heads up the teaching instruction, is very good too. Teaches it in a very structured way -- he has excellent boardwork and is a really cool guy. Both are very helpful. You won't see much of anyone else. Simon (if he's still around) teaches the Thai language lesson for a few days - really good too. They're all Brits - so phonetics can be a struggle if you haven't had it before, but all are very good teachers. But you need to study -- or else you'll face the wrath of Stephen.
