Well, they can only employ you in an office where a position is available. What you are doing right now is waiting for your predecessor to leave. There is also a ton of paperwork involved: Send paperwork for application for CoE, Nova office in Japan receives package, Nova requests a CoE from the Japanese government, Nova sends you the CoE, you take the CoE and passport to your local Japanese embassy, Japanese embassy issues you a visa. That takes months and it is not the fault of Nova. The only entity you can blame in all of it is the bureaucracy of the Japanese gov't. |

nicyvesweet,
Nismo is right on the money. There is ALOT of paper pushing and waiting around before you get the actual date, let alone the address you'll be moving too. If I recall correctly, I didn't find out my exact departure date until a month, maybe 6 weeks in advance before I left. I could be wrong...but I'm pretty sure of the timeline.
I knew in advance the month I'd be heading to Japan, but not the date. You should get your date as soon as they have your CoE in hand because they'll want you to make travel arrangements asap. |

Okay, I'm reassured... but only mildly. BTW, Nizmo, which blog is yours? |
