Hey, I will be moving to buenos aires feb 4 and am looking for some info about job searching. I don't have my TEFL, but i have a degree from a very good university in the US, am fluent in spanish and have a good deal of tutoring and some teaching experience.

What i was curious about was the best way to present myself to an institute or potential employer. Should i submit a normal resume geared toward teaching or is there some different format i should follow? what is important to outline in the resume? How should i be when i go in to meet people or interview? how should i dress? what are they looking for?

Is there a certain type of school thats easier to get a job at without the TEFL?

Besides the info, i'm also looking for cool friends. So either way, hit me up.

ciao

zach

Hey there,
I'm also curious about the best time to arrive in BA to try to find a TEFL job. I have an English degree, worked as a journalist, have a TESOL certificate and have taught TEFL for the past 2.5 years, including about a year in Madrid.
Is it possible to find a full-time gig or will I only find a 10-hour contract and it's up to me to find privates?
Finally, if you do manage to find 20-25 hours work, is that enough to travel around on the weekends, especially if I share an apartment?
If anybody has any recommendations on schools or leads, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks guys,

Tim
