yeah its true.. they give you an "idea". But not the real thing, until you are sitting IN Japan, in Nova's headoffice, ready to dot the i's. Very very true. I started there just a year and a few months ago, and the people I knew coming in up to September were still in the same situation as I had been.

I think that Canuk girl is only half right. From your contract you will know the minimums that you will make as a base, regional allowances, etc. On probation AND off probation. No surprises there.

What is unknown are your shift allowances (late shifts vs. early shifts) and that will depend upon your actual teaching schedule which is unknown until you are in Japan. So it isn't completely a mystery. If you read your contract, it outlines everything that you will make on probabtion and after probation. Everyone makes the same on probation with the exception of regional allowances (Tokyo makes a bit more than Osaka for example). After probation, as far as pay is concerned, assume that you will have the lowest shift allowances possible and that is the worse that you can do.

Nothing? No mention of money all? I don't believe it. I dug my roomies contract up from three years ago and his mentions the basics as I pointed out above. Mine is the same from a little over a year ago. How long have you been at Nova?

I mean really, who'd be foolish enough to climb on a plane and end up in another country without a decent clue about what they will be get paid?
