"Back"? And this from someone with 11 posts? How very odd indeed!"
- Peaches En Regalia
"I've got more posts than you"
"But I'm richer than you"
"How much then? I saved $450 000 don't you know"
"But my dad's got a ferrari"
"My dad is a policemen; he'll arrest your dad"
Sorry Ludwig. We forgot that this forum belongs to you. You're the boss, laters old timer.
Oh, and don't go correcting correct my grammar.
Sorry, I haven't left you with much to go on. So you may be hard pressed to try and think of something original... |

Passage, baggage and medical allowances and a special allowance of HK$10,500*** (*approx. US$1,349 which is a proposed figure subject to further confirmation.) per month are provided for appointees whose normal place of residence is outside Hong Kong. (A NET will not be eligible for the special allowance if his/her spouse is currently receiving the same allowance or any housing benefit from his/her own employer.)
The salary and the conditions of service to be offered are subject to the candidate's qualifications and post-qualification teaching experience and the prevailing conditions at the time the offer of appointment is made. " -EMB website.
Could it be possible that you, Liam, were a resident of HK when appointed, therefore not eligible for housing allowance, but still an EMB NET, all the same?
How funny, when Ludwig said, very clearly that you were NOT an EMB NET. Maybe he knows better than you as to who pays your wages, just as he knows better than me that I do not live in HK and that I work in a primary school? How wonderful that we have him to put us about straight our, obviously, fictious lives.
Ludwig, I think that I have two A-Level classes this afternoon, but perhaps you know better than me as to the exact make-up of my timetable. Could you please inform me ASAP as to exactly how many lessons I have this afternoon and who exactly I am teaching. Much appreciated, thanks. Anymore questions re. my life, I'll be sure to check with you first. Thank you, oh Guru. |

Empty vessels make the most noise. Someone who has to quote from the EMB website is quite sad. Why? Because they have never been on the EMB NET scheme. Liam is not an EMB NET; he simply works at a school in HK and is termed a NET because - through an accident of birth - he acquired English as an infant. I would also draw your attention to the fact that, if he were a NET, then, as stated on the website you quote with such abandon, all terms would be laid out at the time. (You do not know anything about it as you have never been a NET, and never will be.)
Have fun with your dreary 'A' level lessons. That must be so exciting. Get back to me when you grow up, loser. |

[quote="Peaches En Regalia"]? Because they have never been on the EMB NET scheme. Liam is not an EMB NET;. (You do not know anything about it as you have never been a NET, and never will be.)
Yet again, Ludwig knows more about my life than I do myself. Thank you Ludwig. Have you ever thought about your own TV slot, like Yuri Geller or someone else with mystical powers of perception? |

"Grow up", there he goes again! He's like a broken record. Obviously he's going a bit senile in his old age.
And why is it sad to quote the EMB website? Ludwig spends most of his time trying, unsuccessfully, to prove that there are an abundance of houses in Hong Kong that cost billions of dollars. Everyone can see him butting in to all the forums.
He also tells people that they are "Losers". This is very *beep*.
Hats off to Liam and Ricci. Like you say; it is strange the way Ludwig tells you the real truth about your own lives. Either he is Uri Geller, or God, or simply a twit perchance. Either way, he's over the hill. |

Unfortunately, it seems that a mere child lurks behind the name of Ricci. Let's face it, this little idiot can not even use the quote facility.
How very sad. |

Well this topic seems to have burned itself out. Anyone else out there who wants us to solve their problems for them? |

Unless I am mistaken, the teacher that was dismissed from his school for appearing in the "racy" movie, just so happens to be the head of the Expat Teachers association. |

Yes, you are right. The teacher dismissed for doing work in a dirty movie is in fact the president of the ETA. He has also recently written a book about his experiences in Phuket over the Xmas break and is (supposedly) giving all proceeds from said book sales to charity to help those who are affected by the tsunami. |

Oh for crying out loud! The part the teacher concerned had in the movie was in no way 'dirty.' It was in fact a very, very minor part of the film, a scene, a part of a scene. His character, a ganster, got his neck broken while getting a massage. If you think this is grounds to dismiss him from his job then you've been in Hong Kong too long and are just as narrow minded and petty as his principal. The teacher concerned has been awarded damages by the Hong Kong courts so it seems that not everyone is willing to accept distortion of the truth surrounding this case. Should we start sacking every teacher that reads a book the principal doesn't approve of? How about we get the thought police into every school to make sure were all thinking what we're told to think. |

Saroq, err, I don't think in either my post or fosters that any of those book banning suggestions were made. Or that he shoud have been sacked. You cover a lot of ground, from baning books to the thought police. How did you manage to read all that into some simple statements of fact? |

Err, Once Again your post was clearly aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the teacher involved by distorting the facts of his case and suggesting that proceeds of his book won't go to help tsunami victims. I suggest you provide proof of this allegation before you start a cycle of slander. The movie he was in was not a 'dirty movie' and his role in it was in no way justification for his dismissal. These are the facts you should stick to them. In addition to trying to attack his reputation you and Foster are trying to undermine the reputation and good work that the ETA is doing for teachers in Hong Kong. You and Foster have at best only told half of the truth and by doing this youve distorted the truth in an attempt to get readers to think what you want them to think about this teacher and the ETA. Toddle off, your copy of 1984 is smoldering. |

Err Saroq, I suggest that book burning would not effect you all that much as your reading skills don't seem all that strong. Please quote me where I mentioned anything about a book in my post? What facts of the case did I distort? Please quote from my post where I suggest that he should have been sacked for his role in the movie. |

Having a little trouble with your comprehension skills are you Once Again? Read my post again. My comments about Foster's and your intentions by distorting the facts are clear. You are seeking to tarnish the reputation of this teacher and that of the ETA. |
