Hey, me too! Just got a perfect pair this morning -- well, they'll be perfect once my tailor is done with them. Still, this is the first time I've found pants that I've liked that only require a little altering before I can wear them. And it only took 5 months to find them. Perhaps the stores have finally heard our cry of need...or did I just jinx us by saying that?

Even take them out of the packaging and pack them around your other stuff. (heaven forbid you get searched...which never happens) |
In my experience, this speeds up the search. Customs guy opens bag, customs guy sees Women's Secret Things, customs guy promptly shuts bag and waves you through. Worked everywhere except Sydney. Nothing seems to phase those Aussie blokes. |

Can y'all tell me if anybody is ever able to wear jeans to work? even nice jeans? I really want to bring a couple of pairs but if I can never wear them to work it seems way more practical to bring "work" pants instead... |

It depends on where you're working. At my school, some instructors wear nice jeans on Fridays but I don't know about other places. Unless you're really squeezed for space in your baggage, you might as well bring 'em. Even if you wind up working for a school that won't allow them, you can always wear them for an evening out. |

The variations between the British English meaning of pants (panties in American English) and American English (trousers in British English) makes this a very confusing thread. Are we saying that pants (trousers) or pants (underwear) for the European figure are available?
In either case do tell where? |

Oops, my bad! This is one of those BE/NAE differences I know about but tend to breeze over when reading, so when corall referred to pants I understood it as trousers. Sorry about that.

What I meant was that I found some nice trousers today for this particular American figure. Got 'em at Dorothy Perkins in Metro City. Haven't tried underwear shopping yet -- I don't think I'm ready to face it.
Now if you'll pardon me, I've got to get my pants (of both varieties) out of the wash. |

no sorry my bad - i did mean trousers. when we american/canadian types say pants we mean trousers. panties are panties actually, jeans are jeans but can also be in the category as pants. i have been lucky enough to find trousers for work (dress pants) and jeans. my trousers needed an alteration in length but otherwise good, my jeans are huge actually but comfy.
at my kolej i can't wear jeans at all, we deal with too many too rich parents so we gotta look our best |

I thought it was self explanatory that pants (U.S) were altered at the tailors and not pants (U.K). |

FGT, you're quite right, that part is self-explanatory.
I was actually referring to this

I knew this was going to confuse, through experience having may US friends so I opted for the terms trousers in my first post for those that can be tailored and nice, pretty and sexy pants referring to knickers in my second!
And yes you can get both quite easily! |

Sorry to butt in girls. Rather than get confused with BE/AE of trousers and pants.Use Scottish English and call them 'breeks'. |
