Does anyone here teach science subjects (or even specialized topics) in English? I haven't picked up much from the Teacher Forums on this, so I'd like to transfer the discussion here.

I do a few short courses to HS students who volunteer to take them. I use English about 95% of the time. I have complete control over the design and execution of the lesson. Kids get no grades for these, but sometimes they get special credits.

What I'm looking for is techniques / textbook recommendations / etc. that people use in these classes. From a cursory look on the Internet, it seems that most places customize everything. I'd be interested in information as it pertains to HS age students, as well as university and adults.

I expect responses covering things like teaching actual biology courses, as well as how to make scientific presentations, doing laboratory exercises, and teaching scientific English in general.

I saw these in an ESL bookstore and thought they looked really fun and interesting.

Dear Glenski,

Thanks for asking a question that I would like to find some information on. Where are you teaching? By the way, I have more questions than answers. What is your academic background in science? I am interested in health sciences, and the possibility of teaching ESL-science is intriguing.
I posted something somewhere--I think it was "Canuck, two degrees, science", or something to that effect, I believe in this forum. "Guy" responded with something interesting for Mexico. Other than that, I am still looking too.
