Hello,
I am currently in Hanoi and will be in Southern China in 3 weeks. I will be in need of a job and am looking into settling down in around Guangzhou. My question to you is should I try to organize a job before hand or will it be easy to find a position there if I just show up? Is that a good time for the job market? What would be an expected waiting time to get a job If I just show up? Getting abit anxious now as you can see.
I have taught for over 1 year in Japan so im not new to it all.
Any advise would be appreciated.

First off, you need to learn how to spell "advise" = ADVICE; beforehand is one word, not "before hand;" a bit is 2 words, not "abit."
Sorry if this sounds nasty. I just find your spelling errors distracting.
My advice to you is to find a job beforehand, that is before you come to China. It may take a bit of time, but your efforts will be worthwhile. |

Jolly said it nicely enough, methinks!
The Torres Winer Co. is soliciting wine merchants; candidates must be proficient in Mandarin and English. As you know, Torres are a Spanish company. Their advfice to any would-be candidate is to "please, use the spellcheck and make sure your grammar is correct. Otherwise we will not entertain your job application"... |

Thanks for the adviCe. I think I will organize a job BEFOREHAND as you mentioned. Sorry if this sounds nasty but being in a foreign country and using a computer that has the letters drawn onto the keyboard can be A BIT frustrating.
Is that better mate? |

Three weeks from now should be an excellent time to find work. New term will begin and---we all know how they like doing things at the last minute.
Try to at least make some contacts before arriving. Read throught the posts to get idea of what to watch out for. |
