Hello,
I am studying TESL minoring in INTL Studies and am curious about the life for female teachers in the Middle East. If you have experience in such countries, could you please respond and tell me about your time there. Sincerely,
Kay Very Happy

If you do a search on the forums, I'm sure you'll find a number of threads. The topic comes up periodically.

Kay,

Ka-Ching gives the best advice. This topic has come up repeatedly over the years on this board (not for a college paper, of course, but from women who are interested in teaching over there)

I think that you will find that your pre-conceptions about the treatment of women in the Middle East are quite wrong. With the exception of Saudi Arabia, I found that as a Western women I had actually more freedom that in the US. With only a bit of respect for the local culture as regards the exposure of female flesh, I pretty much did what I wanted, went where I wanted, drove my own car, and enjoyed living in a place where random violence against women is rare.

After reading around on the various sections of this board, if you have some specific question, feel free to send me a PM

Kaysera,

We suggested that you do a search - not do the same post on every section of the board!!! Cool I suspect that all of your questions have been answered repeatedly.

The regular readers tend to read all sections... and are rather put off by someone posting the same request all over the place. Besides, best to have all your answers in one thread.

You may want to try PMs if you want to ask specific posters questions.
