hi i've been reading through many posts on here and i'm a little confused. is a celta better than a tefl? i was thinking of either going to itto in guadalajara because it looks like a reputable school but i've read on other posts that a celta is better. the only thing is that itto promises to find me a job in mexico. if i were to get a celta i would probably go with IH in playa del carmen(my favorite city), but i'm not so sure of them helping secure a job for me or how easy it would be to find a job with celta certification. thank you in advance. |

From what I've gathered, most schools will accept either, but the Celta seems to have more favor between the two because the training is more thorough. It's also incredibly expensive, climbing as high as $5000 at some schools. The one in San Francisco is highly regarded. |

Either CELTA or TEFL (from a good provider) will suffice. I would say that TEFL, generally speaking, is more widely accepted since CELTA, rightly or wrongly, is moreoften associated with British teachers here. Nothing wrong with Brit teachers but the preference is usually for US teachers. |
