Does sound a bit shady though. Indiana sounded a bit desperate and thought this might help him out.

If he does look into it I hope he covers all THE angles to save himself a lot of troubles.

Stay away from that employer! He advertises every 3 months or so, which means his lonely operation cannot keep teachers. I know someone who used to live in that city and is familiar with the employer, and she said it is not to be trusted.

I'll check it out, get more details, get a vibe for the place. There's no chance of me getting there before April 1st (is this ad an April Fool's Day prank?) so it's all a mute argument anyway.

BUT ... it might lead to something, and I will leave no stone unturned, even the grottiest, dirtiest, foulest rock with the worst kinds of creepy-crawlies underneath it.

There's always the new Instructor's Visa, which came into play last September. A 2-year Diploma and TESOL Certificate is enough to qualify you -- if you have proof of sponsored work. So I'll work on this angle.

I was told by the Japanese consulate in Melbourne, Australia, that a 2-year diploma and TESOL certificate will be considered if sponsored work is achieved before applying for the visa.
